I saw Qaba’s attractive bottles in the window of a local hairdressing salon. Looking at the website on returning home, I saw these hair care products were developed by a hairdresser and are made locally, in Brunswick Victoria, from certified organic ingredients.
On 29 October 2013 I visited the salon to purchase a 280ml Zero Shampoo and 250ml One Conditioner. I have just run out of shampoo, but have some conditioner remaining, so these sizes have lasted me two and a half months, washing my hair every second day. I don’t share these products with the rest of the family – they’re too expensive.
The shampoo doesn’t lather as well as the products I used to buy from the supermarket. I find this is often the case with more natural products and have learnt that lather is produced by detergents and chemicals such as sodium lauryl sulphate, which can cause skin irritation. Shampoo doesn’t need to lather well to be effective.
This product makes my hair squeaky clean – literally. It’s like I remember my hair sounding when Mum was washing it in the bath as a young child. The hairdresser who sold it said he was wanting to stock Qaba along with other products in the salon, but it is so much better he now only stocks Qaba.
Cost: 280ml shampoo and 250ml conditioner for combined price of $69.20
Would I buy this product again? Yes
